Because not that long ago, I was there too.
I know what it's like to avoid your own reflection. To get dressed in the morning and feel dread before the day has even started.
I know the Sunday night feeling. The “I'll start Monday” promise you've made so many times it doesn't feel like a promise anymore.
I know all of it. Not because I've read about it. Because I lived it.
At my heaviest I was 85kg and a size 14. I tried everything, calorie counting, cutting carbs, restriction diets that always ended in a binge. Gym memberships I barely used, because walking in felt like walking into a room I hadn't been invited to. I wasn't lazy. I wasn't lacking willpower. I just didn't have the right support.
Every time I fell off, the voice in my head got a little louder. You always do this. You have no discipline. You're never going to change.
Then I looked at a photo of myself and saw it clearly. Not just how I looked, but how I carried myself. The embarrassment. Wanting to disappear. That was the moment I decided it was my turn.
In 12 months I lost 20kg and dropped four dress sizes. But the number was the least interesting part.
I stopped avoiding mirrors. I started saying yes to things I'd been quietly declining for years, invitations, photos, a day at the beach. The constant noise (what do I look like, what are they thinking) gradually turned down.
And in that quiet, I found something I hadn't had in a long time. Myself.
I'm now 30kg down in total, and I've built the knowledge and experience that I want to pass on.
I became a trainer because I wanted to be the coach I needed when I was at my lowest. The women who need this most have convinced themselves they're not ready yet. That they need to lose weight before seeing a trainer.

I'm a qualified female personal trainer with a Certificate IV in Fitness and more than 10 years in the health and fitness industry. I coach women at Doherty's Gym in Perth and online across Australia, running training sessions and full nutrition plans that are enjoyable, sustainable, and actually work. That's the Coach Sammi Method.

The Coach Sammi Method is my approach to women's weight loss and body recomposition, built on four things that actually work: progressive strength training, whole-foods nutrition, sustainable habits, and mindset work.
The nutrition runs on whole foods with simple ingredient lists, nothing processed, grounded in evidence rather than fad diets. It rejects crash dieting, group fitness, and restriction. I built it through my own 30kg transformation. It's helped 50+ Australian women lose weight and keep it off.

Not at all. Most of my clients start as complete beginners. I build your program from scratch around your current fitness level and progress you at a pace that's right for you.
Not even close. Several of my clients started in their 40s and have had some of the best transformations I've seen. Your metabolism and hormones change as you get older, which is exactly why having a coach who understands that matters. I adjust your training and nutrition to work with your body, not against it.
No. This is one of the biggest myths in women's fitness. Women don't produce enough testosterone to build bulky muscle. What strength training actually does is help you lose fat, build lean definition, and boost your metabolism so you burn more calories at rest. Every one of my clients who was nervous about weights wishes they'd started sooner.
Both have a place, but if I had to choose one it would be strength training every time. Cardio burns calories while you're doing it, but strength training builds lean muscle that increases your metabolism long term. Most of my clients do a combination. The balance depends on your goals and where you're starting from.
Most of my clients train 3–4 times per week, with 1–2 of those sessions with me. Sessions run 45–60 minutes. I take your schedule into account when I build your program, so it's designed to fit your life, not disrupt it.

Absolutely not. I don't believe in cutting out food groups or giving you a meal plan you'll hate by day three. Your nutrition plan is built around foods you actually enjoy, with the right calorie and macro targets to hit your goals. If you love chocolate, we work chocolate in. Sustainability is the whole point.
Most of my clients start feeling the difference within the first 2–3 weeks and see visible changes within 6–8 weeks. Lasting weight loss takes consistency. I'll keep you accountable and on track the whole way.
That's actually most of my clients. The reason nothing worked before usually isn't effort. It's that the approach wasn't right for you. A generic program can't account for your body, your schedule, or why you keep falling off track. I build everything around you specifically, and I stay in your corner to adjust things when life gets in the way.

It depends on whether you're training with me in person at Doherty's Gym in Perth or online from anywhere in Australia, and how often we work together. Rather than list prices that won't mean much without context, I'd rather understand where you're at first. For in-person and hybrid training, we train at Doherty's Gym in Perth. You can either pay $15 per session or grab a weekly membership for $17. It's one of the most affordable gyms in Perth. For online coaching, you can train at any gym or even from home. I'll design your program around whatever equipment you have access to.
Yes. My online coaching program is available Australia-wide. You get the same custom training program, full nutrition plan, and direct message support as my in-person clients, plus weekly check-in calls in place of the weekly in-person session. The only difference is we're not in the same room. Many of my best results have come from online clients.
An app gives you a generic plan and hopes for the best. I give you a program built specifically for your body, your goals, and your life, and then I coach you through it. I adjust your training and nutrition as you progress, answer your questions in real time, and hold you accountable when motivation dips. That's the difference between information and transformation.
